Cup clashes to kick-off seasons
Halesowen Town have been handed a trip to Newcastle Town in the FA Cup preliminary round.
The Yeltz will make the trip to Staffordshire on September 12 for what will be their first competitive match in six months and a curtain-raiser to the new season.
Chasetown go to Kidsgrove Athletic, while a number of other Midlands clubs will begin their seasons on September 1 in the extra preliminary round.
Sporting Khalsa host Boldmere St Michaels with the winner earning £1,125 in prize money and a trip to Leek Town in the next round.
Tividale travel to Stone Old Alleynians aiming to book a preliminary round trip to Market Drayton Town, while Walsall Wood go to Heather St Johns, with the winners going to either Rugby Town or Worcester City.
AFC Wulfrunians are at Racing Club Warwick, where victory would set up a home date with Bedworth United. Lye face a home clash with either Gresley or Wellington if they win an extra preliminary round tie at Hanley Town.
The draws for the early rounds of the FA Trophy and Vase were also made yesterday. Halesowen, who are still to play their semi-final tie from last year’s Trophy competition, will travel to either Corby Town or Soham Town Rangers in the second qualifying round on October 17. Chasetown face a first-ever trip to Cambridgeshire outfit Yaxley.
The Vase gets under way on September 19 with the first qualifying round and sees Dudley Town travel to Heath Hayes with the winner hosting Stone Old Alleynians in the second qualifying round.
Stafford Town host Lichfield City aiming for a win to set up a Cadbury Athletic, while Wolverhampton Sporting will face OJM Black Country if they come through ties against Bewdley Town and Rocester respectively.
Dudley Sports host Wem knowing they would then be at home to either Whitchurch Alport or Littleton with a victory, while AFC Wulfrunians or Uttoxeter will host Stourport Swifts.
Bilston Town go to Rugby Town, the winners then facing either Ellesmere Rangers or Cradley Town.
Wednesfield make the short trip to AFC Wulfrunians in the first preliminary round, with St Martins or Pershore potentially to follow.
Tividale, who received a bye to the second qualifying round, will host either Sandbach United or Stapenhill.
