Willenhall Town 5-0 Bustleholme - Report
It was first v second at Amos Lane on Saturday but men against boys may have been closer.
Joss Allen, twice, Jack Dale, had gone close before Stephen Holmes saw his effort turned behind, all in the first five minutes.
Tom Lawton's free-kick and Allen again went close and Tyrell McCalla saw his effort again turned around the post before they finally broke the deadlock.
Tom Rayson's diagonal ball picked out Allen before his cross picked out Jack Dale who scuffed his first attempt but had enough time and space to fire home on ten minutes.
The Lockmen doubled their lead on 29 minutes when another break through the middle found Fabian Facey and he blazed into the roof of the net from well outside the box.
Six minutes later it was 3-0 when a brilliant long diagonal ball from Thomas Jones picked out Holmes nad hs run to the goal-line past two defenders allowed him to cut the ball back for Allen to fire home.
Facey was just too high shortly after as The Lockmen, while not at their best, appeared too much going forwards.
Alen went close twice and Dale was just off target as Willenhall kept up the pressure.
As the heat took it's toll Makhan Singh Rai went close before a Holmes free-kick was headed behind.
Facey saw his low effort pushed behind for a corner before McCalla saw his effort fly wide from thirty yards.
Lawton then forced another fine save and Holmes saw his rebound well blocked before they finally stretched their lead on 82 minutes as Holmes powered home a header from a corner.
Chris Adamson was finally called into action in stoppage-time, pushing a dangerous cross behind, however, it was the Lockmen who broke three minutes into stoppage-time and Holmes was clumsily pulled down in the area.
He dusted himself home and blazed into the top right hand corner for his seventh goal of a fledgling season.
