Orrin Pendley made a superb tackle on the visitors Joe Marsden but the referee awarded a freekick which Jamie Griffiths stroked home five minutes before the break.

There was an early flurry of corners for both sides but on nine minutes the visiting goalkeeper Jake Jessup made a terrific save to keep out Danny O`Callaghan`s first time volley.

The rest of the half saw both sides struggle to create any chances of note and then five minutes before the break came the decision that proved decisive.

Matt Sargeant made a fine save early in the second half tipping over a left foot shot from Marsden and slowly but surely the home side began to get back into the game.

On sixty one minutes a Tyler Lyttle free-kick found Joe Hull but the centre-half volleyed over and the an Ashley Sammons corner was headed inches over by Pendley.

As the home side kept up the pressure Kieron Berry saw his shot blocked and when the ball fell to Massiah McDonald the striker`s shot was blocked for a corner.

On eighty five minutes Griffiths headed wide but in time added on the Pics almost rescued a point when Lyttle`s free-kick was pushed on to the post by Jessup and when the ball was returned into the middle Hull volleyed over from close range.
