Stourbridge 3 Lowestoft Town 1 - Report
Stourbridge continued their good league form after overcoming a dogged and determined Lowestoft team who at times looked like they might sneak a point.
Lowestoft are in the bottom three in the league but gave a good account of themselves, though they could do nothing about the two goals from in form Greg Mills.
It was the visitors who went close early on when Kieran Higgs just volleyed wide after hesitancy in the home defence.
But Mills always looked dangerous from the start and on 23 minutes he put a low cross in that was just missed by the Stourbridge front runners, who were without Luke Benbow.
Mills saw a shot deflected over on 34 minutes but on 40 he produced a sublime back heel to Kaiman Anderson in the centre of the park and Anderson put him away with a diagonal ball which Mills latched onto to score.
It should have been 1-1 at half time though when Armani Scharr got down the right for Lowestoft and crossed for Connor Deeks who only had to turn it into the net but somehow missed.
Deeks made up for that on 51 minutes when he turned the ball home for the equaliser after good work by Robert Eagle, who produced some good work throughout the game.
But two minutes later Anderson returned the favour for Mills by setting him up just outside the box for a hard, swirling shot which gave Elvis Putnins in goal no chance.
On 63 minutes later it was seemingly all over when Jordaan Brown crossed from the left for Hayden to head in.
Lowestoft could have reduced the deficit when Eagle crossed low along the goal line but nobody was there to turn it in.
Stourbridge are at home to Cinderford in the league cup at Amblecote tonight (Monday)
