Khalsa took the lead on 55 minutes through Lee Chilton, who guided in a cross from Jay Holdcroft.

Jumaane Meggoe came close to equalising for Wulfrunians after his effort hit the crossbar then post on 78 minutes.

But Khalsa extended their lead three minutes later through Dan Westwood who scored his first goal for the club.

The victory saw Khalsa leapfrog Wulfrunians into seventh place while the home side are eighth.

Khalsa boss Ian Rowe believes they were lucky to win as ‘Wulfrunians were the better team’.

He said: “We weren’t great to be honest. They were the better side, certainly in the first half.

“In the second, it was half-and-half. For us to be up there we must improve.”

Khalsa now gear up for their tie against Coventry Sphinx in the FA Vase.

Rowe says the competition ‘is one he holds dear’, having reached the quarter-finals before as manager of Khalsa and Gornal Athletic, and hopes his side can pull off a victory.

Walsall Wood and Lye Town battled out a 0-0 draw.

Lye boss Andy Wyton felt his side could have played better but that a draw was a fair result.

They had a new goalkeeper between the sticks, Jack O’Day, who signed on Sunday after their other keeper was ruled out for 15 weeks due to work commitments.

Wyton said: “We signed Jack, a young keeper from Cradley, and he made a fantastic save in the first 10 minutes, he did really well.

“Wood hit the crossbar twice and we had an effort cleared off the line, while their keeper made two good saves. We didn’t play to what we could have to be fair. They played OK, the draw was a fair reflection of the game.”

Wolverhampton Sporting fell to a 2-0 defeat at Westfields, while Stourport Swifts lost 3-1 at Worcester City.

In Division One, Brocton earned a 3-2 win over Heath Hayes.

The visitors opened the scoring before Jamie Weldon equalised.

Sam Kayode regained the lead but Ben Douglas’ header once again levelled the scores before Douglas was felled in the box and scored the resulting penalty.
