Warrington 1 Halesowen 1 - Report
A second half goal from substitute Roland Agbor earned Halesowen a point and put paid to Warrington's title chances.
The home side needed to win to put pressure on Altrincham but the draw means the latter have been crowned champions after they also triumphed, at Grantham.
Warrington made all the running in the first half on a sunny afternoon in Cheshire, forcing a number of corners and free kicks as they looked for the vital breakthrough.
Halesowen goalkeeper Daniel Platt had to be at his best to turn away shots from Shaun Beeley and William Hayhurst and Gerard Kinsella saw a shot hit the underside of the bar.
For Halesowen, Daniel Bragoli sent Lee Hughes through on 38 minutes but the ball was taken off the former Albion striker on the edge of the box.
But the pressure did finally p ay off for the home side in the 57th minute when Mekhi Leacock-McLeod got down the wing and crossed for an unmarked Jamie McDonald to sweep home.
An inspired substitution by Halesowen boss John Hill saw Agbor come on for Daniel Byrnes and he made an almost immediate impact when he applied a neat finish to a Jack Kelly cross to put them on terms.
Already safe from relegation, Halesowen play their penultimate league game at Mickleover on Wednesday.
