The hosts were almost level in the 35th minute. Jimmy O’Neill’s goal bound shot was beyond goalkeeper Mate Drecki and defender Simon Gregory stretched out a leg to deflect the ball away from the goal.

Chasetown were reduced to ten men before half time. Danny Cocks had already been yellow carded for dissent and received a second yellow card claiming a penalty.

The Scholars were desperate to get an equaliser and it could have come from an unlikely source as a free kick from keeper Curtis Pond bounced high but Drecki saved.

Chasetown scored a dramatic equaliser when a long range Will Whieldon shot spilled through Drecki legs and over the line.

The drama didn't stop there though. Drecki saw red for a challenge on Jake Lovatt as he tried to get the ball back into play for the kick off.

With three minutes left man of the match Chris Baker whipped in a right cross and Nick Wellecomme powered home a header.

Then Skipper Jack Langston fired in a long range shot in off the post for an astonishing 3-1 comeback.
