Stafford Rangers 0 Halesowen Town 0 - Report

A Stafford stalemate was enough to finally end Halesowen's relegation worries as Sutton Coldfield's relegation was made a mathematical certainty.

With the news still sinking in that Stafford's management team of Neil Kitching and Nick Amos will be stepping down at the end of the season, there were early chances for both teams in an even first period. Yeltz goalkeeper

Dan Platt made a 2nd minute save and opposite number Adam Whitehouse then saved Ivor Lawton's low shot after Lee Hughes broke away in the 7th minute.

Both sides went even closer by hitting the woodwork midway through the first period. Osebi Abadaki set up Kyle Perry to strike the Yeltz upright with a 20th minute bullet header and it was Halesowen's turn to be denied when

Danny Bragoli smashed the ball off the underside of the crossbar from a 27th minute corner after Whitehouse had saved from Lawton. Halesowen's influential midfielder Lawton then limped off the pitch before the interval.

Platt saved easily from another effort from Perry in an otherwise scrappy start to the second half and a Stafford corner was then scrambled away by the solid visiting defence after an hour of play.

But it was Boro who missed a golden chance to win the game when they were awarded a 78th minute penalty, only for Levi Reid to fire the spot-kick against the Halesowen crossbar.
