The Glassboys have enjoyed an excellent couple of years with a run to the third round of last season's FA Cup coming alongside pushes for promotion in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.

But a 4-2 defeat at Grantham Town on Saturday – during which Stourbridge trailed 4-1 at the break – saw Gary Hackett's side slip to 15th in the table.

And after some supporters tweeted they were losing belief with the team, a host of players replied.

"Please keep the faith," said defender Jack Duggan. "It happens to the best teams. We do appreciate your support and we respect your views."

Leon Broadhurst, who has chalked up more than 700 games for the Glassboys, said: "I really appreciate your support and every player is gutted we did not perform.

"Please keep the faith as we are going through a rough spell.

"We all believe in each other and we need you as fans to help us turn this around."

Meanwhile, Tom Tonks said: "Over the past two or three seasons we have been blessed with some good times whether that be with league position or cup runs.

"But at the minute we are going through a very difficult spell.

"As a group of players we have had a chat, a few things have been said and we aim to put things right, starting Saturday."
