Sporting, who are managed by former Wednesfield boss Andy Paddock, have won all five of their West Midlands Premier games so far – the last being an 8-2 triumph at Wellington.

The visitors, having won promotion from Division One as runners-up, have played seven – winning four and losing three.

There is history between the two sides as Sporting used to play at Wednesfield’s Cottage Ground before moving to Pride Park, in Great Wyrley. Paddock said: “Both teams will play football, both of us like to get the ball down and do things the right way.

“I think it will be our hardest test of the season so far.

“It’s another hard game.

“We enjoy playing at home, we haven’t lost there in the league for quite a while, but Wednesfield are a good team and they will be up there this season.

“It will be a good game to watch – it should be end-to-end stuff from two young, attacking teams.”

He added: “It is a bit of a derby. We used to ground share at Wednesfield and it’s a big game.

“I am pleased with how we have started and I am really looking forward to it,” Paddock added.

Cradley Town have had a fine start, sitting second in the table after playing eight games, and they head to Ellesmere Rangers.

Wolverhampton Casuals, who got off the mark last weekend with a 7-0 thrashing of Wellington Amateurs, host Dudley Sports.

Bilston Town, who have one win to their name, head to Smethwick.

Also in the division, Black Country Rangers go to Pegasus Juniors, Dudley Town travel to Shifnal Town, Bewdley Town are at Hereford Lads Club, and Stone Old Alleynians host AFC Bridgnorth.

A division above, in the Midland Premier, Lye Town will look to make it back-to-back wins as they head to win-less Loughborough University.

The Flyers won 4-1 at Long Eaton United last time out.

Sporting Khalsa head to Coventry Sphinx, Stourport Swifts go to Rugby Town and AFC Wulfrunians host Heanor Town.

In Division One, Walsall Wood look to make it six wins from six as they take on Littleton at home.

Gary Birch’s men have scored an average of four goals a game so far.
