Kidderminster Harriers have made former Wolves defender Ashley Carter their sixth new signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old versatile left-footer has penned a one-year deal at Aggborough.

Carter, who also spent time at Blues and Villa as a youngster, can play at centre-back, left-back or as a holding midfielder.

He is the second new defender captured by boss John Eustace after Wayne Thomas, while popular centre-half Keith Lowe also signed on for another year earlier this week.

Harriers other summer captures have been winger Sam Austin, frontmen Andre Brown and Mani Dieseruvwe and goalkeeper Sam Hornby.

Carter is not unfamiliar with the non-league game or indeed the National League North - which Harriers will feature in next season - after a stint on loan at Tamworth last season.

The former Molineux youngster said: "I had a few options but I met with the gaffer and Matt (Gardiner).

"Their determination and passion they showed towards what they want to do just ticked all the boxes for me."
