The Dutchman was boss at Evo-Stik Premier Division side Rushall for two seasons and led them to 9th and 10th place finishes.

The former Ajax man also claimed the Staffordshire Senior Cup with Rushall this season, including a fine 4-1 victory over Kidsgrove Athletic at Vale Park.

Rushall are yet to discuss replacements, with announcements set to be revealed in due course.

A statement from the Dutchman, who still works locally and made more than 250 appearances for Albion over six years, said: "I would like to thank everybody at Rushall for 2 great seasons.

"I've been given the opportunity to manage a good club at a good non league level by John, Nick Allen and the board and I've really enjoyed working with the players and my staff.

"I would like to think that we have brought some good players through.

"Aaron Williams went to Peterborough via Nuneaton from us and we currently have a few players with Conference interest.

"I'm stepping down as I think I've taken the team as far as I can under the current circumstances and will be looking forward to a fresh challenge next season."

The club cited Sneekes' work and business commitments as the reason behind him leaving Dales Lane.

The Pics' vice-chairman Nick Allen said: "Myself and John (chairman) and all of the committee at the club would like to thank Richard for his hard work, skill and integrity he brought to the club and wish him well and look forward to welcoming him at Rushall Olympic Football Club in the future."
