The Pitmen made the worst possible start to the game when Jordan Murphy slotted home for Worcester City from the edge of the box in he third minute.

Worcester continued to press and Daniel Nti saw a shot beaten away by Dan Crane, before the Hednesford goalkeeper was forced off with an injury halfway through the first period.

The best chance of the half for Hednesford arrived at the head of Tom Peers a minute before the break, but he guided the ball wide.

Hednesford made a good start to the second half with Danny Glover and Peers both being denied, while Mo Cham fired into the side netting.

Glover was then denied by a great save from Nathan Vaughan in the City goal before Murphy saw two chances come and go in the space of a minute.

In the end, the early goal for City would be enough for the visitors to claim all three points.
