Stalemate for Hednesford at Lowestoft
Hednesford Town earned a point from their long midweek journey to Suffolk after playing out a goalless draw against relegation rivals Lowestoft.
It was the home side that almost opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Ross Jarvis saw his header fly just wide of the upright.
Four minutes later Kyle Perry forced the Lowestoft goalkeeper into a smart save before Jake Reed shot straight at Dan Crane in the Hednesford goal.
Right on the stroke of half-time Adam Thomas created half a chance for himself but the Hednesford man saw his effort blocked away.
In a game of few chances, the Pitmen continued to press for an opening and almost found it after 65 minutes only for defender Jack Truelove to see his effort comfortably saved.
Two minutes later, Sean Williams saw a free-kick with the follow-up from Matt Regan being blocked away.
Ten minutes from time a big chance for Lowestoft's Shaun Bammett arrived but, with the goal at his mercy, he put the ball wide.
Right at the death, Crane made a great save from Harvey Hodd to keep the score level and preserve a point for the visitors.
