Stafford Rangers returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory against Carlton Town thanks to a second-half brace from George Cater.
The Boro bounced back from their 2-0 defeat at Leek Town last Monday, but took until the 56th minute to take the lead after a poor first-half display.
Rangers manager Neil Kitching gave his squad the week off following that loss to Leek.
He said: "There was a catalogue of errors in the first half with a lack of communication and players running into each other.
"We've got some work to do and I think there are quite a few of the lads who have had heavy Christmases and heavy New Years so we need to blow the cobwebs out of them."
Rangers started slowly and played themselves into trouble on eight minutes.
Jermaine Johnson's poor backpass was intercepted by Niall Davies, but the marksman was denied by a close-range save from goalkeeper Adam Whitehouse.
However, as the half wore on, Kitching's side came through the poor spell.
They should have taken the lead but Nathan Rooney's 39th-minute penalty was saved, after Levi Reid was brought down.
Boro pressed for the opener in the second-half and, two minutes after coming on as a substitute, Kidderminster Harriers loanee Cater slotted home Ben Haseley's through ball.
It was strike partner Haseley who doubled his side's advantage on 66 minutes when a Cater corner came through a crowded box to the marksman, who rifled home.
The victory was completed with five minutes remaining when Christian Dacres released Cater, who rounded the goalkeeper before firing home.
