Brindley hailed as he leaves Hednesford
New Hednesford Town manager Frank Sinclair has thanked club stalwart Chris Brindley after the assistant boss left his post last night.
Brindley has also departed after manager Bernard McNally was sacked on Monday night, following a poor run of results.
Former Chelsea and Leicester City defender Sinclair, 44, took the reins yesterday and brought in Chris Millington as his assistant.
And the former Premier League star tweeted his thanks to Brindley.
Brindley, aged 46, had spells as both player and manager for the Pitmen.
He grew up in Hednesford, attended the town's Kingsmead High School, and runs the nearby Cross Keys pub, which fronts the club's former home.
A club statement added: "The way that he has helped progress the club forward should be commended.
"Chris has played an important part in keeping the team together both on and off the field.
"He's helped in the process of searching for a new managerial team and also filled in as caretaker manager while the club searched for a successor for Rob Smith and Larry Chambers in the summer.
"Chris will forever be a fans' favourite at Keys Park for his time as both a player and on the managerial front and we wish him well for the future."
Meanwhile, Sinclair hailed Hednesford fans for their support on his appointment yesterday.
