Albion hit Gold in midweek round-up
Premier Division leaders Lamp Albion enjoyed a welcome midweek diversion as they narrowly defeated rivals Goldmine by 2-1 in the Final of the Warley Challenge Cup at Halesowen Town FC.
On a bitterly cold evening it was Goldmine who took the lead with a fine volleyed effort . Lamp began to control the game however and Si Johnson headed a timely equaliser just before the interval . As Goldmine tired on the big pitch , Lamp full back Jake Cooper slotted home the decider to win the Cup for Albion . The victory was dedicated to Lamp manager David Mitchell , recovering after recent surgery.
The Division 5 local derby was decided by hat trick hero Dan Smith as Fc Hasbury beat Hasbury Rangers 3-0.

In the John Rochell Cup , National Sunday Cup finalists OJM certainly didn't have all their own way in their Quarter Final clash with Saddlers Club. Chris Brown opened the scoring and the outstanding Saddlers held the lead until the hour mark until OJM equalised . Luke Benbow proved to be the match winner for OJM as he first hit home a penalty and then a last minute side foot to claim a 3-1 win and semi final slot for OJM, who remain in 4 major Cup competitions after an amazing season. In the same competition Premier leaders Lamp Albion took on Rowley Golf from the division below. The Lamp were decimated from Cup Final injuries and Golf took a shock 2-0 lead . Ex-Baggies keeper Chris Adamson scored before half time for Lamp though and skipper Fraser Simms headed home to level at 2-2. As the game looked to be heading for extra time it was Adamson who won the tie , somehow curling the ball home direct from a corner kick . Despite the 3-2 defeat Rowley put in a cracking display.
