The preparations are nearly complete for the Glassboys' money-spinning second round tie against Northampton Town on Sunday at 2pm.

Yesterday workers put up the structure for the gantry next to the pitch at the War Memorial Ground ahead of the fixture which could be the 'most lucrative' in the club's history.

Chairman Andy Pountney said the game has already raised £50,000 for the club and it is a 2,500 sell out.

The club will receive £12,500 for their match, which has been chosen as part of the BBC's Final Score programme on Sunday.

But a broadcast fee of £68,000 was denied due to the BBC opting not to broadcast the Black County club live.

If the club progress to the third round they could net more cup cash and potentially be drawn against some of the country's biggest clubs – including Wolves, Manchester United or Chelsea.

Chairman Andy Pountney said: "This is possibly the most lucrative game we've ever had and we've got the possibility of getting to the third round to play away games with massive clubs.

"Everyone is ready and looking forward to it, the team are excited and are taking it as a normal, chilled game instead of getting themselves worked up and stressed.

"The lads are training no more than normal and are getting themselves geared up and ready."

Money raised from the match will be reinvested back into the club.

After reaching the first round proper for the first time ever in 2009, they have now qualified for the second round in four of the last six seasons.

Gary Hackett's side famously defeated Plymouth Argyle at the War Memorial in 2011, in a game broadcast live by ESPN.
