Rushall Olympic fell to a second home defeat in just three days as they were beaten 2-0 by play-off hopefuls Ashton United.

The Pics almost took the lead inside the opening two minutes as Rushall's first corner was only partially cleared by Ashton.

The ball fell to Alex Reid six yards out, but the winger couldn't get the ball out from under his feet and the visitors cleared the danger.

It proved costly as, just three minutes later, they found themselves a goal down through some slack defending.

An Ashton free kick was swung in from the angle of the penalty area and James Dean found himself unmarked six yards out to volley home.

Rushall didn't learn from their slow start in the first half and were made to pay again just four minutes after the break.

Will Haining's through ball cut the Pics defence apart for Martin Pilkington to gather, turn Duggan, and slot in past Kieran Preston.
