Video: Halesowen Town 1 Rushall Olympic 3
Rushall Olympic kept their lingering Evo-Stik Premier play-off hopes alive with a convincing victory over Black Country rivals Halesowen Town.
The hosts failed to extend their recent good form, which included a No 9 Derby triumph over Stourbridge on Easter Monday.
And the first-half belonged to Rushall with home goalkeeper Dan Platt forced into making a 10th-minute save from Andre Brown.
It was no surprise when Alex Reid burst down the left wing and crossed for Man of the Match Mitchell Tolley to put Rushall ahead by steering superbly into the net after 14 minutes.
The Yeltz spent several minutes down to 10 men as central defender Kyle Morrison received attention to a head injury.
And the Pics took advantage by doubling their lead when Reid swept home in the 34th minute, after Tolley played a delightful ball for Josh McKenzie to deliver a left-wing cross.
Rushall goalkeeper Kieran Preston was barely troubled, although Dan Sweeney fired just over the bar in the 43rd minute and a more energetic Halesowen created a series of second-half chances.
But Kris Taylor met Tolley's pass and cut in to stroke past Platt from 10 yards to make it a comfortable 3-0 to Rushall in the 89th minute.
There was still time for Sweeney to claim Halesowen's consolation goal in the third minute of injury time, by rounding goalkeeper Preston to fire home.
