Report: Tividale 3 Market Drayton Town 3

A late goal saw Tividale snatch an unlikely draw – and they might even have secured the winner but for a professional foul.

They trailed 3-2 to Market Drayton only for Scott Devlin to control a Lewis Wright throw-in, turn and fire his shot past Town goalkeeper Ash Rawlins.

Two minutes later, with both sides pushing for the winner, pacy home substitute Demetri Brown found himself one on one with the visitors' Mike O'Reilly on the halfway line.

The right-back took one for the team, dragging down Brown and earning a straight red card from referee Scott Postin.

After a dour opening, this Evo-Stik Division One South game sparked to life on 22 minutes when Town's Will Wheildon put a neat side-footed effort wide from James O'Neill's long throw.

A minute later, Tividale's Chris Sterling fired straight at Rawlins. But, on 25 minutes, the first goal arrived.

Chris Rabon bent his run to meet a through ball and outpaced the defence before placing his shot past the advancing Rawlins.

The lead lasted 14 minutes, O'Neill found some room inside the area and his shot crept inside goalkeeper Tom Turner's left-hand post.

Three minutes before the break Tividale regained the lead, Wright winning the ball on the edge of his own penalty area and then racing to the other end to fire in a low cross slide home by Sterling.

But the game was all square again three minutes into the second-half. A well-worked short corner saw the home defence switch off as O'Neill scrambled home his second goal.

Town went ahead for the first time on 53 minutes when Cohen Brammal beat Turner with a drilled shot from the edge of the box. Then came the late drama.
