The Glassboys made all the early running as Skelmersdale defended in depth, while relying on lone striker Max Hazeldine to break quickly.

Their plan worked to perfection on 26 minutes when Hazeldine beat Stourbridge's off-side trap, before cleverly lobbing home over advancing Glassboys goalkeeper Charlie Price.

The goal sparked Stourbridge into greater efforts and they soon hit back with two goal s in as many minutes.

Striker Karl Hawley levelled on 34 minutes with a superbly taken goal, latching onto a pass from Dodd with his back to goal.

He turned two Skelmersdale defenders before firing into the roof of the net for his 20th goal of the season.

Two minutes later, Stourbridge went ahead when Hawley again caused havoc in a crowded Skelmersdale before the ball fell kindly for Dodd to slot home from close range.

Dodd was sent off for a late challenge on Strickland after 56 minutes but Stourbridge continued to impress with 10 men.

They increased the lead on 62 minutes, when central defender Dan Scarr climbed highest to a Leon Broadhurst free kick and headed home.
