Halesowen new-boys have the X-Factor

Halesowen Town boss John Hill made no secrets of his dismay with the decision to award Blyth Spartans a penalty last weekend in their 1-0 loss.

But the Yeltz boss would have been encouraged, as his most recent four additions all took part in the initiation test in the club's dressing room.

They took to the mic to wow their new team-mates.

Kaiman Anderson and Shaun Rowley, both on loan from League One side Shrewsbury Town, Dan Summerfield and Malcolm Melvin all stepped up and delivered rousing renditions to various smash hits.

Anderson, who has scored four times since arriving on loan at The Grove, selected rapper Drake's 'Hotline Bling'.

The effort prompted the best response from Hill, who was taking up his role as Simon Cowell, and the gaffer seemed impressed.

Goalkeeper Rowley selected the old party favourite 'Ignition Remix' by R Kelly. Hill was slightly tougher on poor Rowley, advising the Greenhous Meadow youngster to "not give up on his day job."

Creative midfielder Melvin, who signed recently from Sutton Coldfield Town, was typically creative with his song choice - choosing Bill Withers' classic 'Aint No Sunshine'.

But it didn't cut it, landing a 'no' from hedge judge Hill.

Finally, Welshman Summerfield chose to ignore any Tom Jones classics and plumped for the late Amy Winehouse - with her hit 'Valerie.'

Although the dressing room seemed impressed, the Yeltz boss revealed that he had "let the whole of Wales down.' Harsh.
