An end to end first half saw opportunities aplenty with the visitors ruing a number of misses.

Castle keeper Dave Parton made an early save from Paul Sullivan but it was the visitors who should have taken the lead when John Bateman made a stunning save to deny Ben Mills.

After 22 minutes the deadlock was finally broken after Danny Edwards' pass was flicked forward by Sullivan and midfielder James Dance dinked the ball over Parton.

Harry Clayton blazed high over the bar from close range before Tim Sanders was a whisker wide as Newcastle created chances.

Chasetown doubled their lead straight after the break as Stan Mugisha fired into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

Michael Williams at right-back was involved in several attacking moves and would have thoroughly merited a goal but his long-range effort was narrowly over the bar with Parton well beaten.

Midway through the second half, Jono Gould shot beyond Parton but James Askey hacked the ball off the line.

Sullivan added a third goal in the 83rd minute to round off an emphatic second half for the hosts with a stunning effort from the edge of the area.

Paul Sullivan scores to make it 3-0.
