Tividale 1 Chasetown 1
A topsy-turvy game saw Chasetown extend their unbeaten run to four matches thanks mainly to goalkeeper John Bateman.
Chasetown started brightly and had the lion's share of the possession, keeping Evo-Stik Division One South bottom club Tividale firmly camped inside their own half.
Despite the territorial advantage, Thomas Turner in the Tividale goal was relatively untroubled with direct shots at goal.
James Dance firing wide, Stan Mugisha driving over the bar and a Rhys Thompson free-kick right on the edge of the box striking the defensive wall.
Tividale: Turner, Wright, Devlin, Fletcher, Chilton, Male, Jackson, Farquharson, Sterling, Danks (Brown 78), Rabone.
Subs not used: Grainger; Burns.
Chasetown: Bateman, Williams (Turton 47), Haynes, Slater, Thompson, Davies, Dance, Halsall, Wynter, Mugisha (Washbourne, HT), Gould (Robinson,67).
It was still no surprise though when Chasetown took the lead.
A corner was headed back into the danger area by Joe Halsall and a slight obstruction, by his own defender caused Turner to spill a regulation catch straight to the feet of Ryan Winter.
Winter took a couple of touches to make the chance easier but comfortably netted his fifth goal of the season.
The lead was short-lived as Chris Rabone was sent tumbling in the penalty area and Chris Sterling confidently converted the spot-kick, sending Bateman the wrong way.
Chasetown came out fighting in the second-half, Winter heading wide in front of goal and Richard Davies volleying over.
Jason Chilton, in defence, made a number of excellent blocks and tackles. But Tividale looked confident in the last 20 minutes and attacked well.
Chasetown goalkeeper John Bateman denied Sterling, then substitute Dimitri Brown, the second chance a point-blank header from close range.
However, Chasetown almost nicked the victory with the last touch of the game as Winter headed across goal and Nick Turton couldn't quite get enough on the ball to find the target.
