Nantwich Town 1 Stourbridge 0
Stourbridge were denied what would have been a hard-earned point by a stoppage-time winning goal for Nantwich Town at a rain-swept Weaver Stadium last night.
Two well-organised teams had appeared to cancel each other out.
That was before Nantwich substitute Liam Shotton rose to head Elliott Osborne's long ball over the head of Stourbridge goalkeeper Lewis Solly in the first minute of time added on.
Stourbridge boss Gary Hackett named the same line-up as the one that made FA Cup headlines last weekend. A goalless first-half saw both teams create chances.
Nantwich full-back Jon Moran saw his well-placed header cleared off the line by Chris Lait.
At the other end, Glassboys' winger Matt Dodd was denied in the same fashion when Matt Bailey was on hand to clear the winger's sharp drive.
Justin Richards hit a skidding shot that was gathered at the second attempt by Nantwich goalkeeper Kristian Burzynski.
But Stourbridge were indebted to shot-stopper Solly in first-half stoppage-time when he acrobatically palmed away Moran's curling effort from just outside the box.
Both sides created chances in the second period. Osborne flashed a shot across the goal for the Dabbers while the lively Matthew Kosylo saw his cross sail over Solly and strike the far post.
Tom Tonks saw a shot go just wide of the target for the Glassboys, but it was substitute Drew Canavan who had a great chance to score.
He was unmarked as a cross came in from the right, but he fired over the bar.
