Video: Salford City 3 Halesowen Town 1
Halesowen Town's run of three winning league games in a row came to an end at Salford City, who were worthy 3-1 winners on the night.
Salford started like an express train, putting pressure on Halesowen from the start.
They took the lead on only two minutes when James Poole saw his shot save by goalkeeper Matt Sargeant, but Richie Allen headed in the rebound.
Chris Lynch then had a shot cleared off the line after he picked the ball up from a corner and Poole tried to lob Sargeant, but the ball landed on top of the net.
Allen made it two before half time on 37 minutes when he was strong in possession, as the Halesowen defence tried to push him off the ball and curled a shot into the corner of the net.
Allen almost completed his hat-trick on 55 minutes, but Sargeant managed to block it.
If Salford thought they were going to run away with the game, they had to think again on 65 minutes when Danny Bragoli reduced the deficit.
But the home side were still generally on top, with Jordan Hulme and Lewis Hardcastle going close.
It took substitute Joe Mwasile to settle the issue though with a neat finish in injury time.
