The Pics travel to big-spending Salford City on Saturday – the club part-owned by Manchester United legends Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

They will be keen to secure their first league win in six games, five of which have been draws.

But Tuesday's FA Cup replay victory over Shepshed Dynamo provided plenty of cheer, with Alex Reid netting a hat-trick.

The Dutchman said: "The pleasing thing is that we're not playing well but grinding out points. Sometimes you go through a tough spell and you can't explain what is going wrong.

"We have a top squad with good footballers throughout. When they click we will kick-on and perform like the opening weeks.

"Reid knows what he needs to do to score goals and needs to carry on getting into those positions."

Halesowen Town travel to fifth-placed Frickley Athletic looking to build on successive victories over Matlock Town in the league and Mickelover Sports in the FA Cup.

Manager John Hill thinks confidence was high in his squad and is looking to build up some momentum in the coming weeks.

He said: "The camp's in a better mood. We've got a lot of hard work ahead of us and Frickley away is a tough game, they've started extremely well.

"We scored the winner on 89 minutes on Saturday so another couple of minutes it could have been a different story. The league is relentless, you very rarely get a break, so momentum is absolutely key."

Gary Hackett's Stourbridge, sitting 15th with 11 points from eight games, welcome table-toppers Blyth Spartans to Amblecote on the back of their Black Country derby victory over Tividale in the FA Cup.
