Aston Villa youngsters on home turf for Youth Cup final
Villa’s young Lions will have home advantage, and could have fans behind them, in their FA Youth Cup final after the Football Association confirmed it will take place on Monday at 7.45pm at Villa Park.
Villa, who will face Liverpool in the final, made it through to the showpiece after a 4-1 victory over Albion in the semi-final on Friday night, thanks to an own goal plus strikes from Louie Barry, Carney Chukwuemeka and Brad Young.
Discussions are ongoing as to whether spectators will be allowed into the match.
Liverpool are looking to win the trophy, which they last lifted in 2019, for a fifth time. Villa won the third of their titles in 2002.
“The FA continues to work with all relevant stakeholders on the operational delivery of this final and further details on spectators and match officials will be confirmed at the earliest opportunity,” said the FA.
