The academy midfielder originally started on the bench as a strong Villa contingent started for Kevin Betsy’s side.

Aaron Ramsay, fresh from signing his first professional deal at Villa Park only weeks ago, captained his country while striker Louie Barry also started. Albion defender Ethan Ingram was also involved.

After a first half in which the hosts missed a penalty and hit the post, Barry was England’s brightest forward spark. The 17-year-old cut in from the left and aimed a curling effort towards the far corner but he was thwarted, as the side’s entered the break drawing 0-0.

Betsy made wholesale changes at half-time as 10 players were introduced, including Chukwuemeka.

In the second half, Manchester City forward Liam Delap won and scored a penalty to give England the lead. That lead was doubled on the 78th minute when Chukwuemeka finished off a neat England move to slot the ball home from close range.

Villa goalkeeper Filip Marschall was also called up to the squad but did not feature.
