The midfielder has labelled the Gunners’ visit a ‘must-win’ match for Dean Smith’s team in their chase for European football, as they look to quickly bounce back from Wednesday’s disappointing 3-1 defeat to West Ham.

McGinn felt Villa did not battle hard enough against the Hammers and said: “We need to show more quality. That goes for all of us, starting on Saturday.

“It’s another tough game but if we want to achieve things this season then it has got to be three points.

“Last Saturday at Southampton was such a big win for us and the manner of it. Some great blocks and team spirit.

“I don’t think there was enough of it against West Ham. Not in terms of team spirit, that will always be there.

“But I think we need to fight the same way we did against Southampton if we want to get a result on Saturday.”
