Aston Villa plan tributes to Holte Enders in the sky on social media

Villa are offering supporters the chance to remember their loved ones in as part of an online tribute.

The club traditionally hold their Holte Enders in the Sky tribute on the Villa Park big screens at half-time of their final home match of the season.

But with the campaign suspended by the coronavirus pandemic and the stadium likely out of bounds to supporters for the foreseeable future, the club have come up with another way of paying respects to fans who have died during the past year.

The tribute will take place across Villa’s official website and social media channels on what would have been their final home fixture of the 2019/20 campaign – Saturday, May 9 at 3pm.

Supporters are being send us a photo and the name of those close to them who have passed away in the last 12 months. Those wishing to be included should email lee.preece@avfc.co.uk no later than this Sunday.

Villa plan to repeat the tribute on the club’s big screens at the earliest opportunity.

The club will, meanwhile, hold a virtual open evening next week for the their women’s elite academy. Prospective players and their parents will be given an introduction to the facility, which will offer girls aged between 16 and 21 the chance to combine their studies with an elite football programme at Bodymoor Heath.

Former England international Eni Aluko was appointed Villa Women’s first sporting director earlier this year.
