Aston Villa eye up £12m release clause for Brentford defender Ezri Konsa
Villa are eyeing up Ezri Konsa's £12million release clause in the search of a defensive partner for Tyrone Mings.
The 21-year-old impressed at centre-back for Brentford last summer following a switch from Charlton Athletic.
Reports in West London claim Dean Smith is targeting a reunion with his former defender.
Konsa could become the latest addition to Dean Smith's back-line after Mings was bought from Bournemouth for £20m, Matt Targett was signed from Southampton for £11.5m and Kortney Hause came from Wolves for £3m.
Villa had been linked with a move for Bristol City defender Adam Webster, although the Robins value the 24-year-old at a reported £30m.
Gary Cahill is another defender linked with Villa, although a return for the ex-Chelsea man seems unlikely.
