Dean Smith’s men head to the New York Stadium to face the struggling Millers looking for a seventh win on the bounce to further cement their place in the top six.

Rotherham sit in the relegation zone, though they claimed a vital 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend and Abraham has warned they cannot be taken lightly.

The striker, who scored his 23rd goal of the season in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “We cannot take Rotherham for granted. We need to go there all guns blazing like we did in the final 10 minutes on Saturday.

“We have to start like that and take our chances. The game against Bristol City is going to be a big one for the boys and for me, against my old team.”

Villa are continuing to assess the fitness of Kortney Hause after the defender was forced off on Saturday with a hip problem.

Smith has been boosted by the return of Alan Hutton to training after more than a month out with an ankle injury.
