Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham named Championship player of the month for November
Villa striker Tammy Abraham has been named the Championship’s player of the month for November.
The on loan Chelsea ace scooped the award after scoring six goals in four games, becoming the first Villa player since 1966 to hit four in a league game during the 5-5 draw with Nottingham Forest.
Abraham has netted 11 times in 14 appearances since joining Villa at the end of August and saw off competition from Norwich’s Teemu Pukki, Forest’s Joe Lolley and Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph.
Villa boss Dean Smith, speaking about Abraham this week, said: “Tammy’s really exciting because he’s got a bit of everything.
“He’s got the size you like to see. He’s scored a lot of headers and can finish with both his right foot and left foot.
“He’s got a bit of pace and holds it up. He’s turning himself into a good, all-around centre forward. The biggest thing for me though is his attitude, which has been spot on.
“And if you’ve got that, you’ve got the potential to play at the highest level.”
Both Smith and Albion counterpart Darren Moore had been nominated for the manager of the month prize.
But they missed out to Norwich manager Daniel Farke, who has guided the Canaries to the top of the table.
