Tammy Abraham the main transfer target for Aston Villa
Villa are ready to turn their full attentions to the pursuit of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham following a swoop for wing duo Anwar El Ghazi and Yannick Bolasie.
Netherlands international El Ghazi yesterday joined on a season-long loan from Lille, while Bolasie is expected to follow suit today having chosen Villa over Championship rivals Middlesbrough.
Bruce remains keen to add another striker and Abraham remains his top target, with Watford’s Isaac Success a potential alternative.
El Ghazi, a client of super agent Jorge Mendes, was linked with a move to AC Milan back in January. It is understood his deal includes an option to buy.
The 23-year-old began his senior career at Ajax, before moving to Lille in January 2017.
“I am thrilled to join a football club of the size of Aston Villa,” he said. “I visited Villa Park late last night after flying in from Holland and it gave me goosebumps.
“I can’t wait to get out there and experience it for real and play in front of such passionate fans.”
Meanwhile, Steve Sidwell – who played for Villa between 2008 and 2011 – has announced his retirement from football.
