Aston Villa to appeal Henri Lansbury red card
Aston Villa are appealing the red card shown to Henri Lansbury during the goalless draw with Middlesbrough.
The club tweeted the news, announcing that they plan on appealing on the grounds of wrongful dismissal.
Lansbury was shown a straight red card for cynically bringing down Marvin Johnson as he burst through midfield on the 64th minute.
Former Villa winger Adama Traore was sent off for the visitors just four minutes into the game, which ended with the points shared.
If Lansbury's appeal is accepted, he could be eligible for the game against Barnsley this Saturday.
