The 29-year-old left-back has agreed a two-year deal and will move for a fee of around £1.3million – a record for the Turkish club.

Malatyaspor formally announced the transfer on Wednesday, bringing to an end Cissokho’s three-year stay at Villa Park.

The Frenchman becomes the fourth permanent departure from Villa this summer, following Carlos Sanchez, Jordan Veretout and Nathan Baker.

Carles Gil and Aaron Tshibola have also left on loan, with further exits inevitable before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Signed from Valencia in August 2014, Cissokho made 56 appearances in all competitions for Villa.

He began last season as first-choice left-back under Roberto Di Matteo and then Steve Bruce but after losing form was loaned to Olympiakos in January.
