Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker makes shock Bristol City move
Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker has signed a four-year-deal with Bristol City.
The centre-back was a pivotal part of Villa's first-team squad last season as he climbed above Tommy Elphick in the pecking order under Steve Bruce.
However, following the arrivals of John Terry and Chris Samba, the former England U21 international has moved in search of regular first team football.
The 26-year-old played 36 times for The Robins in a loan spell over the 2015-16 season from Villa, and is well-liked at Ashton Gate.
The move will come as a shock to fans, who saw the Villa academy product as the club's third choice central defender behind Terry and James Chester.
He scored his first senior goal with the Villans last season, in the 1-1 draw with Brighton in November.
