Aston Villa seal Ahmed Elmohamady signing
Villa have confirmed the signing of wideman Ahmed Elmohamady from Hull City.
The 29-year-old has agreed a three-year deal and will link up with Steve Bruce for a third time after previously working under the Villa boss at Sunderland and Hull.
Elmohamady left Hull’s Portugal training camp earlier this week after Villa triggered a release clause in his contract.
The Egypt international made close to 250 appearances in five seasons on Humberside and played a part in two successful promotion campaigns with the Tigers.
He becomes Villa’s third new signing of the summer, following the arrivals of John Terry and Sam Johnstone.
“I am delighted to be here at Aston Villa,” said Elmohamady.
“Aston Villa is a great club and I am thrilled to join – it’s one of the very biggest clubs in England and its history and tradition is there for all to see.
“It’s a great time to join too as we look for promotion to the Premier League.
“I will give absolutely everything to help us achieve that goal.
"I know, first hand, what it takes to win promotion and I want that feeling again.”
