Reports: John Terry set to sign for Aston Villa imminently
John Terry is set to sign for Aston Villa imminently, according to reports.
The former England captain will sign up at Villa Park as early as today - according to the Daily Telegraph.
Villa were just one of a host of clubs keen to bring in the Chelsea legend, who has left Stamford Bridge following his contract's expiry.
Birmingham City, West Brom, Swansea, Bournemouth and clubs outside of England were all keen on the 36-year-old, but he's now set for B6.
The reports suggest Terry will join in a 12-month deal worth approximately £60,000 per week, incentivised with bonuses potentially worth up to £4m.
Villa are now in Portugal for pre-season training, and it's expected that Terry will link up with the squad in the coming days following the confirmation of his arrival.
Should Terry join, he'll be Steve Bruce's first summer signing.
