Aston Villa star Jack Grealish helped one lucky punter to £60,000 last weekend - in a bet which didn't even involve the club.

The bet, which won a grand total of £60,734.38 off just £10, was on seven teams all to win their respective league titles.

With Sheffield United, Portsmouth, Celtic, Hibernian, Livingston and Arbroath all in the bag - it was only Newcastle United who were letting him down on the last day in the Championship.

Rafa Benitez's men needed to better Brighton's result on the final day to snatch the title.

With the Seagulls leading Grealish's 10-man Villa squad 1-0 with 89 minutes gone, you'd think all hope was lost, until the Englishman flummoxed goalkeeper David Stockdale with a speculative effort to draw the Midland side level.

Newcastle cruised to victory against Barnsley of course, and thanks to Grealish's equaliser were gifted the title - and the lucky punter won his humongous prize.

Betting company Ladbrokes then tweeted a picture of the stake.

So, whilst Villa might not have had the season they'd hoped for, at least they made one lucky gambler's campaign a good one.
