Aston Villa v Brighton: What has happened to Steve Bruce's face?

A walking wounded Steve Bruce gave his final pre-match press conference of the season as Aston Villa host Brighton at Villa Park.

The manager was on good form despite the visual bumps and bruises that greeted assembled journalists at Villa's Bodymoor Heath training ground.

The Villa manager had under gone surgery to remove two moles from his face, which had left scars and marks near his forehead and eyes.

"I do apologise for the way I look, before you go any further," said Bruce.

"I've had two moles removed, it's not very pleasant."

Bruce joked with reporters that he was going to suggest it was a scuffle that occurred in training.
