Villa, with just one win in nine, head to Oakwell aiming to kick-start a Championship campaign which is yet to catch fire but know they can take little for granted against the Tykes, one of the division's surprise packages so far.

Paul Heckingbottom's team have already recorded victories against Derby and QPR and hammered Wolves 4-0 at Molineux.

And Gollini said: "They have started well, it will be a tough game. It's another battle but we are ready and we will go there and try to win."

Roberto Di Matteo's side recorded their fourth successive draw against Newcastle on Saturday and are set to be backed by more than 5,000 travelling supporters at Oakwell.

Gollini added: "Barnsley is a completely different challenge but at the end of the day points are points.

"Three points are three points no matter if they come against Newcastle or Barnsley so we have to focus and try to win the game.

"We all have to be positive. Only in this way are we going to be able to win games. We have to stay together, keep being positive and I believe we are going to have some wins."

Ross McCormack remains Villa's main injury concern. The striker has missed the last two games with a knee injury.
