Roy Keane brings an 'intensity' to Aston Villa
Aston Villa assistant boss Roy Keane has brought a new intensity to training, according to winger Charles N'Zogbia.
Keane's updated autobiography makes a series of controversial claims which has put the former Manchester United star firmly back in the spotlight.
The Villa No 2 admits to having a "self-destruct button" and says he has been suffering a "mid-life crisis" for years.
And N'Zogbia reveals Villa's squad quickly experienced the Irishman's no-nonsense style, after joining up with manager Paul Lambert this summer.
He said: "Yes, he is good. He has taken to us at training. He does a lot of watching us train. Sometimes when it is not good enough he tells us we have to keep working more and harder.
"That is good for us and for the young players to have him there to make sure we focus on what we have to do. Roy Keane has been playing many years at the top level in the Premier League.
"He is an elite player so you have to learn from him to ensure you perform well."
Meanwhile, Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has hailed summer signing Philippe Senderos.
The former Arsenal man arrived on a free transfer in the window and has played a big part in organising the back four.
Guzan said: "He brings a vocal aspect to organising the guys and making sure the guys are in the right position.
"When you do that, you keep everyone on the same page, which is good. He's been brought in do a job and he's been doing it really well.
"Not that we didn't have that before, because I tip my hat to the guys we were in the trenches with last season.
"No disrespect to them because they are top, top players but he's just come in and brought that cohesiveness that you need. For me as a goalkeeper, it's made my job easier."
