Paul Lambert calls for patience from Aston Villa fans
Boss Paul Lambert today called for patience and insisted his Villa team will prove their worth in time.
He pointed to his long-term vision and believes they will eventually challenge for the top six.
Villa have gone 375 minutes without a goal after Saturday's 0-0 draw at West Ham but have two more points than this time last year.
And Lambert insisted the Villa faithful must put their trust in his team to deliver the goods.

He said: "You've got to have a vision. You've got to see the bigger picture rather than the small view. I just knew from last year if they could see that through, that would do them the world of good.
"What you do find in this league is that it's tough to break into the top six. You've got to give them a chance to make a career for themselves and you've got to persevere with it.
"You've got to give them that belief they can go and do it. I think everybody thinks the name of the club indicates something, but when you're a young team you'll make mistakes like everybody else.
"But you've got to have that belief in them. If we can keep everybody together for a few years then we'll be definitely be up there."
Saturday's stalemate extended their unbeaten away run to three games but meant they have not scored since the 3-2 win over Manchester City in September.
