Villa star Ashley Young is determinated to nail down a regular England spot and vowed to grab any chance against Montenegro "with both hands."

Young, who currently has nine caps, could make his first full international start at Wembley in tomorrow's crunch Euro 2012 qualifier, against a Montenegro side who have won all of their opening three group games.

With ex-Villa team-mate James Milner sidelined through suspension, Young could get a chance to showcase his skills, although it's more likely to be down the left wing.

He said: "It is important for me to play for my country.

"Fingers crossed, I can get myself into the team. I am delighted to be in the squad. If the chance comes I intend to grab it with both hands.

"I have changed positions and played more through the middle for Villa, but I believe I am a versatile player and can play on the left or the right.

"A lot of wingers are in the squad vying for that place."

Young and Stephen Warnock have been joined in the squad by Villa team-mate Stewart Downing, who was called up as a replacement for the injured Aaron Lennon.

But Marc Albrighton faces a battle to be fit for Saturday's Chelsea showdown, after pulling out of England's under-21 squad for their European Championship play-off second leg in Romania with a minor groin complaint.
