Satisfied AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton has vowed his side will show more attacking intent in Monday's Blue Square Bet Premier clash with Tamworth – after admitting he was pleased with a point from last night's 0-0 draw at fellow strugglers Newport County.

A containing performance from the Bucks in Wales meant there was very little forward play on show, but Sinton insisted home games would be a different story.

The result pushed Telford five points clear of the relegation zone ahead of this afternoon's matches. "I want us on the front foot," said Sinton. "I want us to play with more energy and I am convinced that if we do that we will win the game.

"We have asked the players to relax and trust their abilities and not get bogged down with where we are.

"Our home form has been good. Hopefully well be able to play a little bit more like we want to play.

It's a Bank Holiday and I would urge people to come and watch us. There is nothing better than a New Bucks Head when there is a lot of people in there roaring the boys on."

Meanwhile, Sinton insisted that the Spytty Park pitch made it almost impossible to set up to win the game.

"That pitch was very bobbly," he added. "Newport don't try and play a great deal of football on it.

"I think we should take deal of credit from the performance."

Loan winger Marlon Jackson, missing last night with a hamstring strain, will undergo a late fitness test before Monday's game.

Kyle Perry is also struggling with a foot injury but is expected to be passed fit.
