The Premier Division title holders face an FA Vase last 16 clash away to Kent-based Corinthian a week tomorrow, but the more pressing matter for boss Ian Rowe is to bag the six league points on offer before heading south next Friday.

The battle for glory looks set to go down to the wire with just three points separating the top six, while seventh-placed Walsall Wood are also in the mix as they hold games in hand on all the sides above them.

Khalsa are sitting fourth, with the three sides above them just a point better off, and having played two games fewer than all of them.

“We face RC Warwick tomorrow and then go to Haughmond on Tuesday night,” said Rowe. “And the target is to get two wins from those two games and then we can travel down to Corinthian for the Vase next Friday and hopefully have a good weekend.”

Khalsa will be favourites to add to their league tally with tomorrow’s visitors RC Warwick and Haughmond sitting 14 and 15 respectively in the table.

“It’s important that we pick up points in these next two games,” added Rowe.

“The league is very competitive this season with just three points separating the top six at the moment.

“I have never known anything like it. It just shows how strong the league is.

“We have to concentrate on what we are doing and we won’t be taking any side lightly.

“Gresley were bottom but one when they beat Walsall Wood, who were top, 3-0. That just shows that anyone can beat anyone on their day.

“Our home form has been good all season and, as I have said before, if we can pick up our away form then we will be there or thereabouts and hopefully finish a couple of places better than last year.

“I am sick of being the bridesmaid.”

Tividale face one of the promotion contenders tomorrow when they they host fifth-placed Romulus.
