They extended their perfect start to the season to eight games by seeing off second-placed Wednesfield Sundays in Division One’s match of the day.

Sundays held the upper hand at half-time courtesy of a strike from Callum Wood, but the table-toppers then upped the ante after the break.

Luke Whitehouse scored twice and Shaun Steventon once as Academy hit back to secure a 3-1 victory that saw them move three points clear of Sundays – and with two games in hand.

Bradmore Social beat fellow strugglers Concero 3-0 to record their first win of the season.

Jerome Samuels netted a first-half penalty before doubling his side’s advantage midway through the second period. A fine solo goal from Patrick Sharkey completed the scoring as Bradmore climbed away from the foot of the table.

In the Premier Division, Warstones Wanderers Sunday moved four points clear at the top following a 6-0 win at Royal FC.

Anthony Penn was the goal king for Kings Arms, yet still ended up on the losing side in their Division Three clash with Russell Athletic.

Penn found the net four times, but visiting Rangers responded with five to nick the points.

Woodman Inn were edged out at home, 2-1 by Hill Top Rangers.

Golden Lion AFC put the bite on Health Direct as they boosted their Division Four promotion hopes.

Kyle Matthews and Dan Griffiths both bagged hat-tricks, with Lyndon Jones and Glyn Osborne adding the other goals as Lion moved into pole position.

There were also wins for Ashmore, 2-1 at home to AFC Bentlands, and WV Punjab, 6-3 at Wednesfield Conservative.

Michael Thompson was the match-winner for Coseley Tavern in their 1-0 BP Roberts Cup success at Sporting Phoenix United.

Sandwell Athletic progressed at the expense of Division Three rivals Saint Michael Sunday.

Hat-trick hero Adam Whitehouse led the way as table-topping Athletic won 6-3.

Alex Woodall, Lee Eglington and Ben Dutton added Athletic’s other goals with Romek Zapotoczny (two) and Dawid Lamenta on target for the hosts.

AFC Bradmore also hit six, and claimed a clean sheet away to WV Warriors.

GSA Lions roared through to the latter stages of the Birmingham FA Sunday Amateur Cup. Keeshan Robson scored twice and Joscelyn Allen and Ranjit Soomal once each to secure a 4-1 third-round success at home to Sutton Tuns.

Tettenhall were beaten 2-1 at home by Dudley Rangers, while Dynamo 50 Stile were 3-2 winners in their second-round clash at Horizon Athletic.

AFC Jacks powered through to the third round of the Birmingham FA Roger Wood Memorial Cup thanks to a 5-0 success at home to VIP International.
